We have a fantastic opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the team at HMP Wymott, a Category C male prison located in Leyland. HMP Wymott has capacity of around 1,200, and has a varied and complex population.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team, and work in a varied environment, where you will gain experience across primary care, including emergency response, working on the wings, clinics, health promotion, and more! No 2 days are the same in this challenging, yet rewarding and supportive environment. Hours: This is a full time role, working night shifts. Shifts are 20:45 - 07:45 on a 2 week rota: Week 1 - 4 nights Week 2 - 3 nights Salary: This position is full time , youll receive an annual salary of £25,557 - £29,723 per annum. How will we support you? Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course

Main duties of the job

As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

Ensure continuity of care for all patients, and deliver outstanding care at all times Carry out bloods, observations, ECGs etc Work across all areas of care, including inpatients, clinics, primary care, health promotion, bloods etc Respond to emergency situations as needed Work holistically with your patients and other healthcare staff, including nurses, nursing associates, pharmacy etc Deliver personalised, non judgemental care, based on patient feedback Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics If you are interested in career development, we have a wide range of opportunities for you to develop your skills and experience, which include both internal and external options for development and learning.
