About this role

Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in our department for a qualified Pharmacy Assistant to join our team for 18.75hours/ week, worked over 3 days The role is varied and constantly evolving to meet the needs of the service, which delivers pharmaceutical care to community hospitals, mental health inpatient wards, mental health community teams and specialised clinical services across Herefordshire and Worcestershire. You will work with a diverse range of staff and patients, so must be able to work collaboratively to deliver the highest quality of care. This is a developmental role with associated assessments and training expectations. Currently there are no weekend duties, bank holiday working or late nights. You may be expected to work some Saturday mornings in the future.

Please note the Trust will not routinely provide sponsorship to work for this role. Employment on a time limited visa doesn't guarantee sponsorship at point of expiry.

Main duties of the job

As a senior pharmacy assistant, you will lead tasks relating to either medicines procurement, pharmacy IT system administration, dispensing or stock delivery to wards. This will involve regular travel across the Trust to visit clinical areas as part of our stock top up service.

You will be required to work independently and as part of a team and to supervise/ line manage designated members of staff.

Person Specification

Additional Criteria Essential

Willingness to undertake further training including accuracy checking for dispensing assistants course when posts become available. Ability to meet the travel requirements of the role. I understand that the Trust will not routinely provide sponsorship to work for the role, and employment on a time limited visa doesn't guarantee sponsorship at point of entry.

Qualifications Essential

GCSE (or equivalent) grade 4 or above in Maths, Science and English Language (all 3 are required). NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (or equivalent). I understand that I will be asked to provide original certificates to verify my qualifications at point of offer.

Experience Essential

Previous experience of working in a hospital or community pharmacy. Previous experience of stock control work. Previous experience in a customer or patient care setting.
