About this role

Job summary

The successful candidate will be an integral member of the practice staff team, working closely with members of all teams.

You will be working under the direction of the Practice Nurse and as part of the practice multidisciplinary team, the post-holder will support our clinical team to deliver high quality, patient-centred care.

The organisation will ensure the post-holder has access to appropriate clinical supervision and an appropriate named individual in the organisation to provide general advice and support on a day-to-day basis.

Main duties of the job

- health checks

- ECGs

- Llong-term condition reviews / monitoring

- health promotion

- Vaccination clinics

- Phlebotomy

- Clinical administation work

Parbold surgery is a friendly busy training practice looking after around 7,000 patients based in our catchment area.

Our practice team includes 5 GP partners, GP registrars, 2 Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Phlebotomist, Clinical Pharmacist, First Contact Physiotherapist and a large admin and reception team.

Person Specification

Experience Essential

Experience of working in a healthcare setting

Desirable

Experience of working in a GP Practice setting Understanding of infection prevention and control measures Experience of working on / using / EMIS Web

Personal Qualities Essential

Excellent communication and interpsonal skills Knowledge of and ability to work to key policies and procedures Ability to use own initiative, discretion and sensitivity Ability to get along with people from all backgrounds and communities, respecting lifestyles and diversity Good organisation skills Floxible and cooperative

Desirable

Competent in the use of MS Office and Outlook Problem solver with the ability to process information accurately and effectively, interpreting data as required Commitment to ongoing professional develpment

Clinical Knowledge and skills Essential

Able to perform venepuncture Ability to work with own scope of practice and understanding when to refer to colleagues Clinical IT system user skills and the ability to record accurate clinical notes Understanding of safeguarding adults and children

Desirable

Broad knowledge of clinical governance Chaperone trained

Qualifications Essential

Level 3 Health Care Assistant Qualification or Equivalent Qualification in venepuncture

Desirable

Vaccination and Immunisation trained

Other requirements Essential

Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check or willingness to undertake prior to commencing work Full driving licence
