About this role
Kindness first. Curiosity always. Ambition for every child.
Oakwood Primary School is seeking an inspiring and thoughtful Headteacher to lead our school into its next chapter.
Our values of Kindness, Curiosity and Ambition are lived through a nurturing, child-centred culture in which staff seek to understand every pupil while maintaining high expectations for their learning and development. We are proud of our high-achieving pupils, collaborative staff team, engaged community and forward-looking approach.
We were the first school in St Albans to achieve the OPAL Platinum Award. Our children enjoy creative and adventurous play across our extensive grounds, including woodland that has been opened for exploration, climbing and responsible risk-taking.
This is an opportunity to inherit a school with a strong financial position, a stable and united staff culture, active parental involvement and supportive professional networks
We are looking for a visible and approachable primary leader who combines warmth with clarity. You will be an excellent communicator, committed to safeguarding and confident in building relationships with pupils, staff, parents and governors. Applications are welcomed from experienced Headteachers and ambitious senior leaders who can demonstrate readiness for headship.
