About this role
We're looking for a receptionist for student services to join our team and help us create a welcoming, supportive and organised space where students feel safe, listened to and looked after.
As the first point of contact for students, parents, visitors and colleagues, you'll make sure everyone receives a warm welcome and the help they need. You'll support student attendance, manage records, respond to enquiries and work closely with our pastoral and safeguarding colleagues to ensure every student is supported throughout the school day.
This is a rewarding role for someone who is calm, organised and genuinely passionate about supporting the wellbeing of children and young people.
Key responsibilitiesYou will:
act as a welcoming first point of contact for students, parents, carers, visitors and staff, responding to enquiries and guiding them appropriatelymanage student sign-in and sign-out procedures, including late arrivals and early departures, and keep attendance records accurate and up to datesupport student welfare throughout the school day, recognising concerns and referring them promptly in line with safeguarding proceduresprovide first aid assistance following training and school policies, and maintain accurate medical and incident recordsanswer phone calls and emails professionally, coordinate appointments and meetings, and support wider administrative tasksmaintain an organised, safe and welcoming student services area, ensuring resources and supplies are readily availableWhat we're looking forWe're looking for someone who:
brings experience in a customer-facing or administrative role and is comfortable using IT systems to maintain accurate and confidential recordsresponds calmly and sensitively to student welfare situations and handles enquiries from students, parents and colleagues with professionalism and carehas strong organisational skills, manages their time well and adapts calmly to changing priorities in a busy school environmentholds GCSE maths and English (grade 4 or equivalent) and is willing to undertake first aid and medication trainingbuilds positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues, working effectively as part of a teamis committed to student wellbeing, confidentiality and safeguarding, with a caring, patient and empathetic approachExperience in a school, reception or student services setting is desirable, as is first aid training and knowledge of safeguarding and attendance procedures.
