Are you an ambitious, empathetic, and visionary educator who believes there is no barrier to education that cannot be overcome? Are you ready to step into a high-impact leadership role where you can truly re-engage young people with their learning, transform life chances, and champion educational equity?
Do you feel like you ought to be working in an organisation that changes lives for the community it serves?
Do you want to work in a school where staff enrich the minds and enable the success of the young people they work with?
Do you want to work in a school that prides itself on making a difference?
We are looking for an exceptional SEMH SRB Pastoral and SEND Manager to take on a key senior leadership role within our Specialist Resource Base (SRB), focussing on KS3 provision in this foundation stage.
Reporting directly to the SRB Lead Teacher, you will drive operational success, lead pastoral care and SEND interventions, and empower our dedicated team of Teaching Assistants.
At Sewell Park Academy, we strive to ‘enrich minds and enable success’ for the students that we serve. Our mission is to ensure that our students leave with the qualifications needed to succeed in their next stages of their lives, but also be healthy, safe and be able to develop strong relationships. We have built a culture where staff want to stay and students want to come. So much so that 100% of staff said that ‘our school has a culture of learning: students are ready, willing and able to learn’ and we have had a turnover rate for teaching staff of just 2% in the last three years. We have been over-subscribed for each of the last 5 years.
We are seeking an approachable, trauma-informed leader who thrives under pressure, communicates with clarity, and brings a solution-focused mindset to complex challenges. You hold high expectations for young people and possess a deep understanding of how trauma and SEMH needs impact learning and behaviour.
As a vital part of Norfolk’s Alternative Provision Strategy, our base provides targeted support to help pupils overcome barriers to learning and re-engage with education. In this role, you won't just manage daily operations - you will act as a trusted anchor for students, families, and staff, building an environment rooted in equity, high expectations, and belonging.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership: Provide strong operational management alongside the Lead Teacher, deputising when required and maintaining high standards across the provision.
Lead SEMH & SEND Interventions: Plan, coordinate, and deliver targeted SEMH support, conduct standardised assessments, and oversee Individual Intervention Plans.
Manage & Empower Team Members: Line manage and develop SRB Teaching Assistants, driving staff excellence to deliver impactful learning and pastoral interventions.
Support Admissions & Transitions: Guide pupils through smooth induction, assessment, and transition processes into and out of the base.
Family & Agency Partnership: Serve as a consistent, trusted link for parents/carers, home school DSLs, and external agencies to foster positive relationships and robust safeguarding.
