About this role

When you join Verizon You want more out of a career. A place to share your ideas freely — even if they’re daring or different. Where the true you can learn, grow, and thrive. At Verizon, we power and empower how people live, work and play by connecting them to what brings them joy. We do what we love — driving innovation, creativity, and impact in the world. Our V Team is a community of people who anticipate, lead, and believe that listening is where learning begins. In crisis and in celebration, we come together — lifting our communities and building trust in how we show up, everywhere & always. Want in? Join the #VTeamLife.

What you'll be doing… The IoT space is growing dramatically—and the capabilities of Verizon’s award-winning global IoT platform and services are industry-leading—so capitalizing on marketplace demand is crucial. In this key pre-sales leadership role within Verizon’s IoT & Vehicles organization, you will lead a dynamic team of Business Development professionals and work with Solutions Architects who together identify, cultivate, design, and deliver advanced IoT connectivity solutions, putting Verizon connectivity directly into the products our customers design, build, and sell.

• Drive Strategy & Vision: Create and implement the overarching vision and strategy for the organization to maximize productivity, anticipate technical trends, and lead clients toward successful outcomes by integrating Verizon connectivity and platform services into their products. • Lead High-Performing Teams: Oversee team management, including hiring strategically, performance assessments, promotions, status changes, corrective actions, and ongoing coaching and feedback. Foster future-focused leadership, lead by example, and balance adaptability with consistency. • Technical Pre-Sales & Solutioning: Provide technical expertise throughout the sales cycle, ensuring a thorough understanding of customer needs to deliver technical designs that address complex requirements. • Stakeholder & Executive Alignment: Act as a trusted advisor to Business Unit sales leaders and Segment Solutions Architecture Teams. Build and cultivate trust-based, C-suite relationships internally and externally to accelerate decision-making and drive strategic execution. • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead opportunity teams and diverse support organizations (e.g., Solution Architects, Sales, Capture, PCM) to build a holistic view of client product strategy and define complex client solutions. • Pipeline & Operational Excellence: Maintain effective pipeline management, execute data-driven forecasting, and prioritize assessment abilities for large enterprise client opportunities. • Position Thought Leadership: Synthesize key industry trends, market demand, and product insights to differentiate Verizon’s solutions, positioning the team as global thought leaders in deploying connected products. This will include presenting the Verizon message at key industry events and conferences within the US as well as internationally. • Embody the Be BOLD Standard: Act with agility to solve real customer problems, practice thoughtful candor, and take ownership of delivering impactful, ethical outcomes over mere activity, leveraging Verizon's eight V-Team Principles across business, people, and self-leadership. What we're looking for… You'll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience. • Ten or more years of relevant experience in a combination of strategy, technical sales, and marketing roles within the wireless/telecom industry required, demonstrated through work/military experience or specialized training. • Demonstrated experience in sales leadership, managing technical sales, developing sales funnels, solutions architecture, or business development teams in complex environments. • Strong ability to communicate effectively with C-suite and senior-level stakeholders to accelerate decision-making, influence win-rates, and translate customer insights into operational plans. • Proven track record of operational excellence in leading technical/pre-sales teams, meeting deadlines, managing time effectively, and making informed decisions. Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• Advanced degree (Master’s in Engineering, MBA, or relevant graduate degree). • Deep expertise across IoT, enterprise wireless (5G, private mobile networks), and wireline capabilities (SD-WAN, MPLS, fiber, unified communications, cybersecurity). • Mastery in framing technology solutions around measurable client business outcomes, ROI metrics, and business case development. • Proven track record of closing multi-year agreements and successfully managing large strategic accounts—balancing revenue protection with ambitious growth. Ideally, 3+ years of experience in the connected vehicle space. • Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and juggling multiple large-scale projects, sales, and complex negotiations simultaneously. • Expertise in revenue forecasting, account planning methodology, and data-driven pipeline operations (e.g., Salesforce). • Deep experience in Field Sales within Verizon Business Group or similar enterprise environments. If Verizon and this role sound like a fit for you, we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every “even better” qualification listed above.

Where you’ll be working
