About this role
Purpose
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Automotive Test Technician to join the Passive Safety team based at UTAC Millbrook. The successful role holder will be responsible for preparing bucks and rigs for Sled tests, recording data, initial approval, and de-prep following test completion.
Responsibilities
Prepare rigs for Sled tests to customer requirementsMechanical fitting of test fixtures Set up high speed cameras to customer requirements Set up data acquisition systems Collect and download data during testsSetting crash test dummies to customer requirementsLiaise with UTAC EngineersWork to proceduresSupport continuous improvement initiativesAct in accordance with the behaviours for UTAC staff at all times
Qualifications
Automotive QualificationMechanical or Electrical Engineering apprenticeship or experience to match HNC/HND in Engineering (preferred but not compulsory)Experience
Previous Mechanical or electrical technician/engineering experienceExperienced in a testing environmentWelding and fabricating experience (preferable but not compulsory)Photographic experience (preferable but not compulsory)Data collection experience (preferable but not compulsory)Skills
Sound knowledge of mechanical and / or electrical principlesStrong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsIT literate Knowledge of high speed data and video capture considered an advantageStrong organisational, analytical and problem solving skillsPersonal Behaviour's
