About this role
As the Lead Animator, you will drive the efficiency, work quality, and skills expansion of the Animation team, in close collaboration with the Project Manager and the wider Core Team.
You will define and uphold the visual style of character movements, cinematics and gameplay animations, and safeguard animation quality by mentoring team members and reviewing final deliverables. Through fostering a culture of growth and high performance, you will help deliver engaging, high-quality game experiences on one of the Ubisoft’s titles.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the production and delivery of the project's animation and artistic direction, alongside the Project ManagerPlan, assign, and track the animation team's daily tasks to ensure on-time, on-budget, and on-spec deliveryBeing hands-on with animations, playing a key role in the creation of high-quality assets that bring immersive, authentic worlds to lifeMentor and provide ongoing feedback to animation team members on performance and developmentIdentify and solve creative, technical, and workflow challenges, communicating effectively across teamsCollaborate with the Animation Director to verify in-game animation quality, consistency and iterate according to feedbackHelp establish and maintain clear pipelines and quality standards. Senior or Lead-level animation experience in the games industry Strong artistic skills with mastery of body mechanics and animation fundamentals Proficiency in 3D animation softwares (MotionBuilder and Maya) Advanced knowledge of character rigging, skinning, and motion capture techniquesAbility to learn game engine tools and pipelines quicklyAttention to detail for both aesthetic and technical qualityVersatility, responsiveness, and initiativeStrong people management experience and outstanding team spiritGreat communication skills (English and Vietnamese)Genuine passion for games and ability to analyze them criticallyAAA shipping experience on consoles (a plus) Ubisoft Da Nang — Putting Vietnamese Game Development on the Global Map
