About this role
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Construction Manager to join our team in Ahmedabad, India. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for overseeing large-scale construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Develop and implement comprehensive project management plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocationCollaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project specifications are met and deadlines are achievedConduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, safety compliance, and quality controlManage and coordinate multiple construction projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectivelyAnalyze project risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful project completionOversee the procurement of materials, equipment, and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely deliveryLead and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and goal-oriented work environmentPrepare and present detailed progress reports to stakeholders, including senior management and clientsEnsure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards in AhmedabadImplement and maintain quality assurance and quality control programs throughout the construction processResolve conflicts and address issues that arise during the construction process, making decisive and analytical decisionsStay updated on industry trends, innovative construction methods, and sustainable practices to improve project efficiency and outcomes Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; Master's degree preferredMinimum of 12 years of progressive experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a senior management roleProven track record of successfully managing large-scale industrial construction projectsIn-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and regulations specific to Ahmedabad, IndiaStrong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide diverse project teamsExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detailSuperior communication skills, both written and verbal, in English; knowledge of local languages is a plusProficiency in construction project management software, Microsoft Office suite, and other relevant toolsSolid understanding of construction contracts, financial management, and cost control techniquesExperience with sustainable construction practices and green building certificationsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of organization and efficiencyWillingness to work on-site and travel as required for project oversightStrong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levelsCertification in Project Management (PMP) or Construction Management (CCM) is highly desirable Join our social media conversations for more information about Turner & Townsend and our exciting future projects:
