About this role
Team & Resource ManagementManage a cross-functional design team covering process, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, telecom, structural and marine disciplines. Allocate manpower, set workload priorities and conduct performance reviews.Coordinate with sub-contract design institutes, third-party design vendors and global engineering branches to align resource deployment.Offshore EPC Design Delivery ControlSupervise FEED, conceptual design, detailed engineering, 3D modelling, drawing issuance, material take-off (MTO) and technical specification compilation for offshore facilities.Monitor design milestone progress, identify schedule delays and propose corrective actions to meet project EPC timelines.Review key design deliverables including PFD, P&ID, general arrangement drawings, structural calculation reports and equipment datasheets.Client & Stakeholder Technical InterfaceAct as primary engineering representative for client technical meetings, design reviews, technical query responses and approval submissions.Align all design outputs with client requirements, international codes (API, DNV, ABS, ISO) and local statutory offshore regulations.Resolve cross-party technical discrepancies between client, construction, procurement and installation teams.Technical Risk & Cost ControlIdentify design technical risks at early stage, organize hazard identification workshops and implement mitigation solutions to avoid rework during fabrication and offshore installation.Optimize design scheme to cut material, fabrication and installation costs without compromising safety and technical compliance.Lead technical evaluation of vendor equipment proposals and participate in technical bid assessment for long lead items.Quality & Standardization ManagementEstablish and enforce internal engineering design standards, drawing control procedures and document management workflows.Conduct regular design quality audits to eliminate errors, omissions and non-compliance issues.Manage design change control process (ECN/ECR), track impact on cost, schedule and construction. EducationBachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical, Chemical, Naval Architecture, Offshore Engineering or related engineering disciplines. Master’s degree preferred.Professional ExperienceMinimum 10 years offshore oil & gas EPC engineering experience, with at least 5 years in engineering team management role.Proven track record delivering complete FEED and detailed design for FPSO, fixed offshore platforms or subsea EPC projects.Familiar with full EPC workflow: design → procurement → fabrication → integration → offshore commissioning.Technical CompetencyIn-depth knowledge of international offshore industry codes: API, DNV GL, ABS, ISO, NORSOK etc.Proficient with mainstream design software: AutoCAD, PDMS/E3D, CAESAR II, HYSYS, structural finite element analysis tools.Strong understanding of multi-discipline interface logic for offshore integrated facilities.Soft Skills & LanguageFluent written and spoken English for daily client communication, technical reports and cross-regional team coordination.Excellent leadership, cross-department coordination, problem-solving and conflict resolution capabilities.Able to work under tight project deadlines and handle multi-project parallel management.
