Tieto Tech Consulting is looking for a Senior Roaming Operations Engineer who wants to join a project within a Telecom Team for our respectful client BICS.

When joining Tieto Tech Consulting as a Senior Roaming Operations Engineer
You will provide second-line support for Instant Roaming, Open-Connectivity Roaming (Roaming Hub), SMS Translator, Steering of Roaming, Managed PGW, and other related servicesMonitor network and service availability and quality, performing proactive and reactive maintenance activitiesManage incidents and carry out planned maintenance workParticipate in the implementation of new services and network rollout projects in collaboration with engineering teamsCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Presales, and other second-line customer support teams, to gather information, logs, and traces, validate routing and data transfer, and ensure high service availability and qualityWork closely with vendors, monitor their performance, and ensure proper service deliverySupport customers worldwide with roaming-related issues and cooperate with mobile operators and Travel SIM companiesDemonstrate a strong understanding of network architecture and signaling protocols and interfacesAssist with the training of new and existing team membersSupport workload planning to ensure business continuity during holiday periodsParticipate in an on-call rotation (one week per month)
Who we are looking for
You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, IT, ICT, or a related fieldMinimum of 3–5 years of experience in telecommunications, primarily in signaling or roaming (mobile telecommunications or international carrier telecom)Strong understanding of network architecture, SS7/SIGTRAN, LTE, GSM call flows, Mobile Packet Core call flows, and roaming scenariosFamiliarity with telecommunications technologies and ITU/ETSI standardsA high degree of initiative, autonomy, and commitmentAbility to work effectively in an international and multicultural environmentA proactive, self-driven approach, with the ability to identify and resolve issues independentlyAbility to work both independently and as part of a team, collaborating closely with peers and colleaguesAbility to work effectively under pressure, stay well organized, and think outside the boxResults-oriented and customer-focused, with a commitment to delivering high-quality servicesStrong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and adjust priorities based on ad hoc requestsUpper-intermediate (B2) English proficiency or higherWillingness and ability to travel internationally as required

Experience with the Cellusys Steering of Roaming platformExperience with 5G networks and/or VoLTE/IMSGood operational knowledge of LinuxKnowledge of DockerKnowledge of IT tools such as Splunk and Python
