About this role
Your focus will be on, but not limited to, ensuring accurate, timeous submission of information into Ramesys, accurate monthly costing per cost centre as well as ensuring forecasts are timeously updated. You will also be responsible for capturing accurate financial information into SAP and HFM.
More of your responsibilities will include:
Completing monthly financial submissions that adhere to the Thungela accounting policies and practices, and are in line with the relevant accounting standardsEnsuring financial submissions are loaded into HFM or other financial reporting system in a timely and accurate mannerAssisting in the preparation of budget, forecast and MOP information for selected head office or operational entities, including requesting information from relevant stakeholdersPreparing additional reports as required, including those related to subsidiaries and other investments, information related to the MOP process and other ad-hoc requestsPerforming ad-hoc analysis as required on significant transactions, identification and reporting of trends and unusual movementsPerforming SAP reconciliations and clearing reconciling items, while interrogating the dataProcessing journal entries to align intercompany and other accounts with supporting documentationDeveloping or enhancing forecast templates for financial reporting system uploadsReconciling financial systems to ensure accurate mapping and loading (SAP, HFM, Ramesys etc.)Ensuring VAT submissions are completed, including preparing the VAT schedules for input into statutory returnsPreparing and reviewing financial statements or notes for various entities in the Thungela Group, including iXBRL tagging and CIPC submissionIdentifying areas of improvement in current processes as well as improved cost and commercial managementManaging key stakeholder relationships, including understanding their requirements and delivering on their needs timeously Bachelor’s degree in in accounting or related Finance fieldRegistered with SAICA CA (SA) advantageousExperience
Minimum 4 years in a financial reporting, month end close and forecasting fieldPrevious experience in a Coal Mine environment (advantageous) Drivers LicenceProficient knowledge of relevant accounting standards and legislation applicable to financial accountingVAT ActProficient knowledge on IFRS StandardsProficient knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP)Proficient knowledge of Financial Accounting incl. budgeting and forecastingProficient knowledge of Financial Reporting IM Systems including, but not limited to SAP, HFM and RamesysWho We Are
