This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded procurement and purchasing professional looking to take ownership of a critical supplier and product portfolio within a growing business. Working at the heart of the Procurement team, you'll be responsible for ensuring product availability whilst balancing supplier performance, inventory levels, cost management and operational efficiency.
This role offers significant exposure to supplier relationship management, purchasing strategy and cross-functional stakeholder engagement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys combining commercial decision-making with supply planning excellence.
Working closely with Procurement, Commercial, Logistics and Operations teams, you will play a key role in supporting business growth, improving supplier performance and ensuring continuity of supply.
Your New Role
* Manage purchasing and supply planning activities across a defined supplier and product portfolio * Develop and maintain purchasing plans that align with forecast demand and business requirements. * Build strong relationships with key suppliers, monitoring service levels and driving performance improvements. * Identify opportunities to optimise inventory, reduce risk and improve product availability. * Support sourcing initiatives and supplier reviews through detailed analysis and market insight. * Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure purchasing decisions support commercial objectives. * Lead supplier communications to proactively manage supply challenges and mitigate disruptions. * Support new product introductions, supplier transitions and business change projects. * Produce reporting and analysis to support procurement, inventory and supplier management decisions. * Provide guidance and support to colleagues, promoting best practice across purchasing and planning activities.
What You'll Need to Succeed
* Previous experience within Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Planning, Category Management or Inventory Management. * Strong supplier relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills. * Experience operating within a manufacturing, FMCG, engineering or product-led environment. * Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance cost, service, inventory and risk. * Advanced Excel skills and experience using ERP, MRP or procurement systems. * Ability to analyse data and translate insights into practical purchasing and supply decisions. * Excellent communication skills and confidence challenging suppliers and internal stakeholders.
