Portfolio Payroll are proud to be supporting a leading manufacturing business as they look to appoint an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their high-performing payroll function. Reporting directly into the Payroll Manager, this is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of both weekly and monthly payrolls for a workforce of circa 3,000 employees, within a fast-paced, complex environment.
The Role
As a key member of the payroll team, you will support the end-to-end processing of high-volume payrolls, ensuring accuracy, compliance and exceptional service delivery to employees and internal stakeholders. You'll work closely with the Payroll Manager to maintain smooth operations, contribute to continuous improvement, and uphold best practice across all payroll activities.
Your responsibilities will include:
End-to-end payroll for weekly and monthly cyclesAccurate input and validation of starters, leavers, contractual changes, absences and statutory paymentsManaging high-volume data uploads and reconciliationsProcessing statutory deductions, RTI submissions and year-end tasksResponding to employee payroll queries with professionalism and claritySupporting audits, reporting and compliance checksContributing to process improvements and system optimisationWorking collaboratively with HR, Finance and operational teams across the manufacturing sites
About You
Strong experience within a high-volume payroll environmentExcellent attention to detail and numerical accuracyConfident communicator, able to handle queries across all levels of the businessComfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentKnowledge of weekly payroll cycles is highly desirable
