You will work a weekly rotating shift pattern:
Monday-Friday, 6am-2pmMonday-Thursday, 12pm-10pmMonday-Thursday, 8pm-6am The Role
Our client operates the UK’s largest operational salt mine, producing rock salt that helps keep the country moving during winter. Alongside mining, they use the underground spaces created through extraction to store important documents and artefacts.
They are looking for experienced heavy machinery operators to join a supportive team that values collaboration, respect and integrity.
You’ll operate equipment including Joy Continuous Miners and CAT 988 loaders, working closely with the Shift Manager to meet production targets while maintaining high standards of safety and product quality. Full training on specialist mining equipment will be provided for candidates with relevant heavy plant experience.
What You’ll Do
Operate large machinery safely and efficiently in an underground environmentSupport continuous production, transport and processing activitiesFollow statutory and company safety requirements, including the Mines Regulations 2014Contribute ideas to improve safety, health and productivityAssist with ground control works, ventilation and infrastructure maintenanceMaintain product quality and help optimise rock salt processing What We’re Looking For
At least 3 years’ experience in heavy industry, quarrying, tunnelling or a similar environmentProven experience operating large machinery, such as loaders, excavators or continuous minersA strong commitment to safety and complianceFlexibility to adapt to varied tasks and rotating shiftsA good standard of secondary educationJoy Continuous Miner experience would be an advantage, although training is available for suitable candidates What You’ll Get
