A local authority pension fund is looking to appoint an experienced Technical Pensions Lead to take ownership of its pension fund accounting and help strengthen processes for the current and upcoming financial year.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Budget setting and ongoing financial monitoringAccruals and month-end processesInvestment accounting and reportingAnnual financial reportingSupporting and finalising the external audit processEnsuring the fund is properly set up and prepared for the next financial year Key requirements:
Strong LGPS experiencePrevious pension fund accounting experience within local governmentStrong technical accounting knowledgeExperience across year-end, audit and financial reportingAbility to work autonomously and establish robust processes quickly This would suit an experienced local government pensions accountant who can take ownership of the technical accounting function and provide immediate support to a busy pension fund team.
