Assistant Accountant - 6-Month Temp Contract Location: Cambridge (Hybrid) Rate: £15.40-£18.50 per hour
Robert Half is recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a Cambridge-based organisation on an initial six-month temporary contract.
The role will cover a mix of day-to-day finance duties and month-end support, including:
Processing and reviewing supplier invoices and credit card transactions using Xero.
Completing bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies.
Raising sales invoices and managing aged debtors.
Assisting with month-end accounts, including prepayments, accruals, intercompany reconciliations and fixed assets.
Delivering finance inductions for new starters and providing training to existing staff.
Providing general administrative support and covering colleagues during periods of annual leave.
What we're looking for:
Previous experience in a finance role, ideally covering transactional accounts and reconciliations.
Some experience of month-end processes.
Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Xero experience would be beneficial.
A flexible approach and willingness to support the wider finance team.
Hybrid working is available, with the role based in Cambridge.
