Your new company A well-established and growing civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its operational team. Your new role As Project Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of civil engineering and infrastructure projects from inception through to completion. Working closely with commercial, technical and site teams, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards. You will lead multidisciplinary project teams, manage client relationships and coordinate all aspects of project delivery across a range of highways, infrastructure and utility schemes.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing civil engineering and infrastructure projects from award through to handoverLeading Site Managers, Engineers, Supervisors and subcontractors to achieve project objectivesOverseeing highways, public realm, drainage, utilities and general infrastructure worksManaging project programmes, resources and site activitiesEnsuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budgetBuilding and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationshipsChairing progress meetings and coordinating project delivery teamsMonitoring project performance, costs, risk and programme complianceSupporting commercial teams with variations, compensation events and change managementReviewing and maintaining construction programmes and look-ahead plansManaging procurement activities, resource allocation and subcontractor performanceEnsuring compliance with health, safety, quality and environmental standardsCoordinating design development and technical deliverables with internal and external stakeholdersProducing regular progress reports for senior management and clientsIdentifying opportunities to improve project performance and operational efficiency What you'll need to succeed
To be considered, you will ideally possess:
Proven experience delivering civil engineering and infrastructure projects within the UKPrevious experience in a Project Manager position within a contractor environmentStrong knowledge of highways, drainage, public realm, utilities and infrastructure worksExperience managing multidisciplinary project teams and supply chainsGood working knowledge of NEC contractsStrong commercial awareness and contract administration skillsExcellent programme management and planning capabilityExperience managing client and stakeholder relationshipsStrong communication, leadership and organisational skillsA commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safetyHNC, HND or Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or a related disciplineSMSTS and CSCS qualifications What you'll get in return
