StormX Recruitment is supporting a growing business in Stevenage with the appointment of an experienced Financial Controller.
Reporting to the Group CFO, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day finance function, ensuring strong financial control while providing commercial insight to support business performance and decision-making.
The Role
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing the month-end close and delivering accurate monthly management accounts and reporting.Preparing budgets, forecasts and financial analysis.Providing commercial insight and constructive challenge to senior stakeholders.Maintaining robust financial controls, reconciliations and processes.Identifying opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and cost control.Supporting business projects and strategic initiatives.Working closely with Group Finance to ensure consistent reporting and controls.Providing financial support and guidance across the wider business. About You
We are looking for a qualified accountant with strong commercial experience and excellent analytical skills.
You will ideally have:
ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualification.Experience as a Financial Controller, Senior Accountant or in a similar senior finance role.Strong month-end, budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting experience.Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.The ability to work at both a strategic and hands-on level.A proactive approach with strong attention to detail. Motor industry experience would be highly advantageous, although candidates from other commercially focused sectors will also be considered.
