Farrer Barnes is recruiting for an Accounts & Tax Manager to join a highly regarded firm of chartered accountants in Ashford. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional seeking a varied role, strong client relationships and genuine flexibility.
Offering a salary of £50,000–£60,000, hybrid working and full-time or part-time options, this position would suit an established Manager or an ambitious Senior ready to take the next step.
You’ll manage a varied client portfolio, oversee accounts and tax compliance, and work closely with the senior team to deliver an exceptional service. The role also offers the opportunity to support colleagues, develop client relationships and make a valuable contribution to the wider practice.
Responsibilities Manage a portfolio of clients, acting as their main point of contact.Prepare and review statutory accounts and associated tax computations.Oversee corporation tax and personal tax compliance.Ensure deadlines are met and work is completed accurately.Handle client queries, providing practical advice and identifying opportunities for additional support.Review colleagues’ work and provide technical guidance.Collaborate with the senior team to manage workloads and maintain excellent client service. Requirements Strong accounts and tax experience within an accountancy practice.Experience managing client portfolios and relationships.Good technical knowledge of statutory accounts, corporation tax and personal tax.Confidence reviewing work, with excellent attention to detail.Strong communication, organisational and time-management skills.A proactive, supportive and collaborative approach.
