About this role
The Material Controller will be responsible for ensuring the effective planning of manufactured and/or purchased material to maximise the effective use of resources and minimise any disruption caused by constraints.
This is working for a global manufacturing business and is required on a 6-month contract.
The role benefits from hybrid working with you typically being on site 3 days per week. The working pattern means you finish work on a Friday at 1.30 pm giving you more of a weekend!
Role and Responsibilities of the Material Controller
Ensure component requirements are correct and communicated to suppliers in a timely, professional mannerUnderstand and implement any MRP generated 'messages' and amend supplier schedules accordinglyManage open order books to ensure appropriate order coverage and optimal inventory levelsEnsure inventory levels of components under individual control are in alignment with departmental objectivesEnsure external logistics costs are optimised using normal transportation methodsHighlight future supply risksProvide monthly forecast of expected deliveriesProactively resolve invoice queriesIdentify and remedy excess inventory Candidate requirements for the Material Controller
