Financial Controller Alfreton | Hybrid £75,000 - £85,000
SF Recruitment are working with a PE-backed business in Alfreton to recruit a Financial Controller. Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a broad leadership role with responsibility for the day-to-day finance function across the Group. You'll lead and develop the finance team whilst ensuring the business has strong reporting, controls and financial information to support its continued development. It's a good opportunity for an established Financial Controller, or a strong Senior Finance Manager ready to take on broader ownership, who enjoys being close to both the numbers and the wider business.
The role You'll take responsibility for: - Leading, mentoring and developing the finance team - Ownership of month-end and year-end reporting - Producing management accounts and reporting packs for senior leadership - Maintaining strong balance sheet controls and reconciliations - Cash flow forecasting, treasury and working capital oversight - Leading annual budgets, rolling forecasts and scenario planning - Providing profitability, KPI and commercial analysis to the leadership team - Supporting operational stakeholders with financial insight and decision-making - Managing the external audit and statutory reporting process - Overseeing VAT and other statutory returns - Improving finance processes, controls, reporting and systems - Supporting the CFO with wider finance projects and strategic initiatives
What we're looking for Ideally you'll be: - ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified - Experienced at Financial Controller, Senior Finance Manager or similar level - Comfortable leading and developing a finance team - Strong across both financial and management accounting - Experienced with budgeting, forecasting, audit and statutory reporting - Commercial enough to turn financial information into useful insight for the wider business - Strong on Excel and comfortable working with ERP/finance systems
Experience within a multi-site environment would be particularly useful, although it isn't essential. NetSuite experience would also be beneficial.
