We are recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and well-established residential care home in Dorking, Surrey, providing support for up to 44 residents.
The home offers a warm, homely environment where residents can enjoy an active and vibrant community. Residents are encouraged to maintain an enjoyable and fulfilling lifestyle, with regular activities, trips and a variety of social events taking place throughout the year.

The team takes a deeply personal approach to care, taking the time to understand each resident’s individual needs, preferences and personality. Activities play an important role in helping residents remain socially connected, active and engaged.
The Role
As an Activities Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning and delivering a varied programme of activities that encourages residents to remain active, socially connected and engaged in daily life.
You will get to know residents individually, taking the time to understand their interests, hobbies, abilities and preferences so that activities can be tailored to suit different needs.
The successful candidate will bring energy, creativity and enthusiasm to the role, helping to create a lively and stimulating environment where residents can enjoy meaningful experiences.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Planning and coordinating a varied programme of activitiesOrganising activities to suit residents’ individual interests, abilities and preferencesEncouraging residents to participate in social and recreational activitiesOrganising group activities, games, crafts, music and entertainmentSupporting trips and outings where appropriateOrganising seasonal celebrations and special eventsEncouraging residents to maintain existing hobbies and interestsSupporting residents to remain socially connected within the communitySpending time getting to know residents and understanding what is important to themWorking with care staff to ensure activities are appropriate for individual needsEncouraging independence, confidence and participationKeeping activity records and maintaining an organised programmeBuilding positive relationships with residents, families and colleaguesCreating a warm, engaging and inclusive atmosphere About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative Activities Coordinator who genuinely enjoys spending time with older people and creating opportunities for them to enjoy meaningful and stimulating experiences.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience organising activities, events or social programmes, ideally within a care settingA creative, enthusiastic and outgoing personalityGenuine passion for supporting older peopleExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to engage with people from different backgrounds and with varying abilitiesGood organisational and time-management skillsAbility to plan and manage a varied programme of activitiesA flexible and person-centred approachAbility to work independently while also being part of a wider teamCreativity and willingness to introduce new ideasA warm, patient and encouraging approach Benefits & Perks
