To write articles, letters, op-eds, blog posts, and other pieces for both in-house and external publishing venues to help promote the goals of the organization
Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
Write op-eds and columns about animal rights issuesCreate written content uniquely designed for PETA’s blog and accounts on various social media platformsDraft reports, leaflets, and correspondencePrepare PETA news releases, advisories, and media alerts to go out to the media in AsiaEdit other staffers’ writingPerform any other duties assigned by the supervisor Some professional writing experience preferred, which may include writing for newspapers, magazines, other publications, or the internetA thorough knowledge of animal rights issuesDemonstrated exceptional written communication skills in EnglishDemonstrated ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlinesProven ability to handle many tasks simultaneouslyDemonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environmentAdherence to a healthy vegan lifestyleDemonstrated support for PETA’s philosophy and the ability to advocate for the organization’s positions on issues professionallyCommitment to the objectives of the organizationMust be based in the Philippines
