JOB SUMMARY The duties of the Technician involve all processing and related activity in the Cold Stores Department of the Brewery. Activities include product transfer and filtration, Vessel CIP and general cleaning and tidiness in the Cold Stores. PRINCIPAL DUTIES Carry out the cleaning and sanitizing of the filter plant, dosing tanks, product lines and hoses according to the relevant SOP’s Do all pre-filtration checks such as tank pressure, dissolved oxygen and carbon dioxide purity to ensure that they are within specification Ensure that the correct type and amount of filter aid is being used and at the correct dosage rates Carry out pre-coating according to relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Ensure that the correct volume and method are being used for priming addition to vita malt and RES and for the addition of GFE to Guinness Ensure that the correct volume and method are being used for the blending of Shandies, Ting, Juicy, Ginseng and Peardrella Carry out blending and filtration process so that the end product Temperature, Haze, Dissolved oxygen, Carbon Dioxide and clarity are with the required specification Report all out of specification immediately and ensure that the necessary corrective actions are taken in a timely manner Notify and provide the lab with samples of filtered product for an independent analysis. (250 ml sample properly labeled with date, product name, vessel and time) Ensure that all is being done to minimize loss on all products Complete all Filtration Forms and Summaries according to relevant SOP’s Ensure that the product is approves for bottling before it is released to the Bottling Hall Clean all equipment and instrument used during filtration and place them in the appropriate storage area Carry out CIP of the pertinent Cold Stores vessels according to relevant SOP’s Perform any other related duties required by the job function MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE At least five (5) O’Level/CXC passes including Mathematics and English. At least one (1) year experience in manufacturing or warehouse work KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Good communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of basic Health and Safety principles. Willing to work in a team environment as well as independently Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks within a team-based environment.
