Job Title: Civil Design EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a driven Civil Design Engineer who holds a Professional Engineer (PE) license or an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification with the capability to obtain their PE within a year. This role offers the opportunity to assume increasing responsibility in the design and delivery of civil engineering projects while working alongside a team of experienced professionals in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities • Lead and assist in the design of civil engineering projects, including land development, site design, transportation, and roadway improvements. • Design and implement stormwater management and utility infrastructure. • Prepare engineering plans, specifications, and technical reports. • Perform advanced engineering calculations and cost estimates. • Utilize design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and other modeling tools. • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards. • Participate in project planning, scheduling, and quality control. • Prepare to mentor other staff and contribute to team development as experience grows. Essential Skills • Bachelors degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution. • 3-10 years of civil engineering design experience in a consulting or professional services environment. • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D. • Strong communication skills and leadership potential. • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Familiarity with hydrology/hydraulic modeling software and GIS tools. • Experience with municipal, transportation, or land development projects. • Understanding of local, state, and federal permitting processes. • Possession of PE or Passed FE certification is preferred. Work EnvironmentThe position is based in an office located in Maryville. The role involves working with design software and requires interaction with various stakeholders, ensuring a dynamic and collaborative work environment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maryville, TN. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.67 - $72.12/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
