Freight Forwarding Assistant
Location: Immingham Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 DOE Job Type: Full Time Holiday: 25 Days + Bank Holidays Start Date: ASAP
The Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Freight Forwarding Assistant to join a busy and growing logistics operation based in Immingham.
Working closely with the Freight Forwarding Manager, you will support the day-to-day running of import and export freight movements, ensuring shipments are handled efficiently from quotation through to invoicing.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinating import and export shipmentsCompleting and managing customs entriesLiaising with customers, shipping lines, hauliers and overseas agentsObtaining quotations and negotiating freight ratesPreparing and checking shipping documentationMonitoring shipment progress and resolving issuesDelivering excellent customer service throughout the logistics processSupporting the smooth running of freight forwarding operations About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Previous experience within freight forwarding or logisticsKnowledge of UK import and export customs proceduresExperience or understanding of customs entriesKnowledge of shipping lines serving European and international marketsUnderstanding of EU road freight operationsStrong communication and negotiation skillsA proactive and solutions-focused approachThe ability to work independently and as part of a teamGood Microsoft Excel and Word skills Desirable
