You will join the Food & Beverage Application Center China and contribute to fermented meat as a new growth platform. Working closely with application, commercial and R&D colleagues, as well as customers and external partners, you will help translate biosolutions into relevant, practical meat applications.
The role & your impact This is a hands-on technical role combining operational execution, tactical customer support and innovation. You will help shape the technical direction of an emerging growth area while working in laboratories, collaborating with customers and supporting trials at production sites.
Your key responsibilities in this role
• Build and lead application capability development for fermented meat and related meat-processing applications in China. • Develop culture, enzyme and combined solutions addressing local needs relating to flavor, texture, appearance, shelf life, safety and clean-label products. • Design, conduct and document laboratory trials, including applications, formulations, prototypes, process guidance and technical value propositions. • Provide expert technical support to customers and commercial teams through solution development, troubleshooting, field support and implementation at production sites. • Build the meat application toolbox and organizational knowledge by connecting meat-processing science with fermentation, microbiology and biotechnology. • Contribute to innovation and new business development through customer insight, differentiated solutions, technical training, customer co-creation and launch readiness. • Collaborate with the Meat & Plant-Based Application team, China Sales and Marketing, regional and global Application Research and R&D teams, Regulatory Affairs, Product Management, sensory and analytical colleagues, customers, universities and industry partners.
What you’ll need to be successful in this role
• A master’s degree or higher in food science, meat science, food engineering, microbiology, fermentation engineering, biotechnology or a closely related discipline. A bachelor’s degree may be considered together with substantial relevant industry experience. • Three to five years of relevant experience in industrial meat processing, meat product development, application technology or R&D. • Practical knowledge of major meat categories and production processes. • The ability to design and conduct trials, interpret data and troubleshoot formulation and process issues involving flavor, texture, color, yield, preservation and product safety. • A good understanding of food safety, hygiene, HACCP and quality systems relevant to meat processing. • Working English sufficient for technical communication, documentation and collaboration with regional and global colleagues. • Strong application expertise and the ability to connect technical solutions with customer and business needs. • A collaborative, curious and agile approach, with the ability to work across technical, commercial and external stakeholder groups.
Additional skills & interests we value
• Direct factory or production-line experience. • Experience using starter cultures, yeast or molds in meat applications. • Knowledge of microbiology, fermentation, strain functionality, enzyme applications or sensory methods. • Familiarity with the Chinese meat industry and relevant customer networks. • An interest in developing deeper expertise in fermentation and biosolutions and applying it within meat processing.

Ways of Working / Working Conditions The role is primarily office and laboratory based. Regular travel is expected for customer visits, production-plant trials, industry engagement and external collaboration.
