Essential Functions
• Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors. • Demonstrate knowledge of department and hospital policies and procedures. • Utilizes AIDET and Patient Experience measures during patient interactions • Attend staff meetings and in-services • Complete competency requirements on an annual basis • Follows all infection control and prevention policies • Demonstrate ability to maintain a safe environment and wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) • Ability to obtain blood or other specimens using varied technique on all age groups • Proficient in the use of the laboratory information system and hospital information system (where applicable) • Maintain supplies in a neat and orderly manner • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude • Make appropriate decisions independently • Prioritize workload • Inform management of problems • Maintain confidentiality of patient data • Cross training in ATC, MLW, Phlebotomy/Accessioning • Performs EKGs in Presurgical testing location. • 18. Performs all other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• High School Required or • GED • 1-3 years Previous phlebotomy experience preferred Preferred • 4-6 years Previous experience in a healthcare environment Required • Performs EKGs Preferred • Basic Computer Skills (Low proficiency) • Performs EKGs (Low proficiency) • Certified Phlebotomy Technician - AMERICAN SOCIETY OF PHLEBOTOMY TECHNICIANS (ASPT) Preferred or • CPT - Certified Phlebotomy Technician - National Health career Association Preferred or • NCCT-Certified Phlebotomy Technician - National Center for Competency Testing Preferred
