QualificationsExperience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Qualification Standards for Administrative and Management Positions GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least 3 years of general experience at the next lower broadband NH-01, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in other pay systems. General experience is experience that demonstrates the ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions; Plan and organize work; and Communicate effectively orally and in writing. OR EDUCATION: 4-year course leading to a bachelor's degree. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION. Ideal Candidate: This is not a Security Forces position, this is an Information Protection position Experience with Personnel Security systems (DISS/e-QIP) desired Fluency with Microsoft Office programs desired Understanding of security concepts and applications; understanding of local suitability processes/procedures desired KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of a wide range of security concepts, principles, and practices to review, independently analyze, and resolve difficult and complex security problems; apply policy direction to contractors and government/military officials, and develop guidance for applying security policy, procedures, techniques, equipment, and methods to a variety of work situations and various levels or degrees of security controls. 2. Knowledge of a broad range of security program relationships, and expertise in information, personnel, and industrial security to effectively implement and administer applicable security programs and/or coordinate with other specialized security programs. 3. Knowledge of security classification methods, concepts, and eligibility for access to classified or sensitive information to review plans for proposed or new projects, organizations, and/or missions to assure the presence of adequate planning for information security and other controls. 4. Ability to plan and carry out reviews of unit and/or contractor security programs, analyze and evaluate reports and conditions to recommend remedial actions. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Major DutiesImplements and administers the Information Security Program. Administers the Industrial Security Program. Implements and administers the Personnel Security Program for assigned organizations. Supports unit security managers and office security managers in implementing security education and motivation programs.
