About this role
NCS is looking for a Senior data scientist to address challenging data science problems by discovering information hidden in vast amounts of data using techniques in statistics, machine learning, and data mining. The data scientist will work closely with business users, project managers, and database engineers to develop sophisticated analytics algorithms that provide actionable insights. The role requires being a trusted adviser to clients in conceptualizing advanced analytics solutions and enabling their journey in data science.
On regular workdays, the candidate will serve as a Project Executive within NCS’s project management team, supporting another project
Responsibilities:
Translate customer pain-points into problem statements and architect analytics solutionsPresent results and learnings to technical and non-technical audiencesManage full lifecycle of data cleaning, preprocessing, feature engineering, modeling, and deploymentValidate models with statistically sound justifications for selection and performanceBuild and deploy efficient and scalable advanced analytics models in productionDesign and develop visualizations and dashboards to explain actionable insightsContribute to data architecture engineering decisions to support analyticsWork with project managers and leads on status reporting and solution evaluationCollaborate in interdisciplinary teams using waterfall or agile methodologiesMentor and upskill peers and juniors and contribute to internal networks
The ideal profile should have:
Post Graduate Degree in Mathematics, Applied Statistics, Business Analytics or equivalent5 years’ experience in advanced analytics delivery or equivalent academic exposure for internsStrong knowledge in feature selection and extraction across varied data typesCompetency in supervised and unsupervised machine learning techniquesSolid understanding of statistics, NLP, simulation, and optimizationProficiency in Python or R, and Apache Spark or similar scripting languageExperience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlik, Plotly, or ggplot2Experience with machine learning model deployment using Docker or KubernetesAbility to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a concise and actionable mannerSkilled in manipulating and analyzing complex, high-volume, structured and unstructured dataAdditions:
Experience in Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Cloudera, Hadoop, Spark, or StormFamiliarity with associated tools such as Pig, Hive, or MahoutExperience with DevOps tools in analytics project deliveryExperience in application or software development and designExposure to deep learning and reinforcement learningExperience in implementing graph database analyticsKnowledge of database modeling and data warehousing concepts Why Join NCS
