Role Summary
The Scrum Master is responsible for championing Agile values and practices to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet client specifications and align with business and technical objectives. This role involves leading and motivating cross-functional teams to foster a collaborative, high-trust environment that promotes continuous learning and operational excellence.
What will you do
Agile Leadership & Facilitation
Serve as the primary liaison between the Product Owner and the project delivery teamCoach and guide teams in Agile processes, Scrum ceremonies, and best practicesFacilitate sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure adherence to Scrum valuesAct as a servant leader, removing impediments and enabling team productivityProject Planning & Execution
Collaborate with the Product Owner to develop and maintain the Product BacklogDefine sprint objectives, completion criteria, and acceptance standards for each iterationPlan iterations and overall project schedules in alignment with stakeholder expectationsTrack and report development progress to key stakeholders using burndown/burnup charts and other Agile metricsDelivery Management & Quality Assurance
Ensure all deliverables meet contractual specifications and are completed on scheduleTake full accountability for the quality of work produced by the Scrum team, including any subcontractorsMaintain consistency and uniformity across deliverables from multiple Agile teamsManage client expectations and maintain strong, trust-based client relationshipsStakeholder Engagement & Governance
Participate in all milestone reviews and governance meetings with the clientDocument and obtain written approval for all review discussions, decisions, and action itemsProvide timely escalation of risks, issues, and potential schedule slippages with recommended mitigation strategiesEnsure compliance with confidentiality, security protocols, and regulatory requirements (including the Official Secrets Act where applicable)Documentation & Reporting
Maintain comprehensive records of all development and maintenance activitiesPrepare and submit progress reports, meeting minutes, and project documentation as requiredEnsure proper version control and traceability of all project artefactsAdapt reporting formats and frequency based on client requirementsTeam Development & Communication
Coach, train, and mentor team members on Agile methodologies and technical practicesFacilitate knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the teamCommunicate clearly and effectively (both written and verbal) with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levelsIdentify training needs and ensure team members receive relevant upskilling opportunities The ideal candidate should possess
Education
Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Computer Studies, Information Technology, Engineering, or related disciplineExperience
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience as a Scrum Master, managing Large Scale Scrum (LeSS) or equivalent Agile frameworksMinimum 7 years of experience in software design and development, with at least 3 years in Agile project environmentsProven track record managing systems of similar scale, scope, and complexityExperience developing solutions using enterprise technologies including database design, web/application servers, and network technologiesSkills & Competencies
Strong understanding of the Scrum framework and ability to train others in Agile principlesExcellent communication, coordination, facilitation, and negotiation skillsDemonstrated supervisory and leadership capabilitiesAbility to lead, develop, and maintain respectful and trusting relationshipsStrong problem-solving skills and ability to manage ambiguityExperience with user stories and user experience (UX) focused projects is advantageousCitizenship
Must be a Singapore Citizen (due to project sensitivity and security requirements)Preferred Attributes

Preferred
Agile certifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), Professional Product Owner (PPO), or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)Project management certifications: PMP, CITPM, or PRINCE2 will be an advantageNote
Certification is preferred but not mandatory; equivalent demonstrated experience managing Scrum or Agile teams will be considered.
