About this role
Many Fold Farm is looking for one full time Farm Hand (Hand I) to expand our farm crew. The hand will work closely with the other members of the crew taking care of our animals and land. The work involves daily outside work with animals (sheep, cows, chickens, hogs, and dogs). Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Animal husbandry (40%) - Moving Sheep, Cows, and Chickens - Perform minor veterinary care - Feeding and watering - Movement of temporary fence and other pasture equipment Egg collection, cleaning, and packaging (10%) General farm projects (repairs, construction, land maintenance, etc.) (40%) Cleaning and Minor Servicing of Equipment and Vehicles (10%)
Basic Requirements: - Valid Driver’s License - Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions - Ability to work independently - The ability to lift 50+ pounds - A calm demeanor when working with animals - Able to performing all tasks in dirty outdoor conditions in all weather - Ability to effectively communicate with team members
Highly Preferred Skills (but not required): - Ability to drive a manual transmission vehicle - Ability and experience operating a tractor - Basic skill with hand and power tools - A working knowledge of motor vehicle maintenance (oil changes, changing air filters etc.)
