Transport Operations Manager Required!
Location: Portsmouth
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 6:30pm
Our client is an established transport and logistics business operating a busy palletised distribution, haulage and warehousing operation from Portsmouth.
We are looking for an experienced Transport Operations Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day operation, managing drivers, transport planning, customer service and overall performance.

Transport Operations Manager - Responsibilities:
Manage the day-to-day transport operationManage and support drivers, warehouse and admin staffOversee daily planning, vehicle movements and deliveriesMonitor transport performance and resolve operational issuesDeal with driver and customer queriesWork closely with the warehouse and planning teamsMonitor vehicle availability, maintenance and downtimeEnsure drivers and vehicles operate safely and compliantlyMonitor driver hours, vehicle checks and relevant documentationIdentify ways to improve efficiency, service and operating costsManage operational administration and performance reporting
Transport Operations Manager - Requirements:
Previous experience in transport operations, transport management or a senior transport roleExperience managing drivers and/or a transport teamGood understanding of day-to-day transport operationsConfident dealing with drivers, customers and internal teamsGood understanding of driver hours and transport complianceOrganised, commercially aware and able to make decisionsStrong problem-solving and communication skillsComfortable working in a busy, fast-moving environmentGood IT and administration skillsCPC is not essentialPallet network, general haulage or similar transport experience would be advantageous
