Pearson Whiffin Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Factory Operative / CNC Machining Operative to join a busy and established manufacturing operation based in Rochester.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous CNC machining experience who is looking for a permanent night-shift position within a hands-on production environment.

The Role
Working as part of the Machining team, you'll be responsible for processing components accurately and safely while maintaining high production and quality standards.
Responsibilities will include:
Processing parts in accordance with relevant work instructions and production documentationOperating within a CNC and machining environmentSupporting CNC turning and CNC milling operationsCarrying out manual turning, milling and drilling dutiesFettling castings using compressed-air-driven hand grinding toolsCarrying out manual handling duties within the production environmentMoving boxes and castings safely around the factoryLinishing castings using an upright linishing machine when requiredEtching castings using compressed-air-driven vibro-etching equipmentShot blasting castings using alumina gritOperating a band saw where requiredCompleting job cards and accurately recording work carried outUsing touchscreen systems to record production activityMaintaining clean and organised working areasSupporting general housekeeping and 5S standards within the department The role also involves maintaining and cleaning shot-blast extraction equipment and cabinets where required. What We're Looking For
Minimum 2 years' CNC experiencePrevious experience within a manufacturing, engineering or machining environmentExperience operating CNC machineryCNC turning and/or CNC milling experienceExperience working with metal components or castings would be advantageousComfortable carrying out practical, hands-on production workGood attention to detailAble to follow technical instructions and production documentation accuratelyComfortable with manual handling as part of the roleReliable and able to work independently as well as part of a teamGood understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing environmentWillingness to undertake a variety of machining and finishing dutiesComfortable working permanent night shifts following completion of training Health & Safety
