A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a proactive and detail-focused Finance Assistant to join a growing business in Hoddesdon. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and efficiently whilst contributing to ongoing process improvements.
This role offers exposure across both purchase and sales ledger, reconciliations, reporting, month-end activities and year-end support, making it an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their accounting career.
Key Responsibilities
Processing sales invoices, including staged and prepayment invoicesManaging daily credit control and customer account reconciliationsProcessing and maintaining Accounts Payable invoices through the ERP systemReconciling supplier accounts and resolving invoice queriesPreparing weekly payment runs for review and approvalReviewing aged creditor reports and investigating anomaliesAssisting with month-end tasks including accruals, prepayments and journalsSupporting year-end accounts preparation and external auditsProducing weekly and monthly management reportsMaintaining accurate accounting records in line with company controls and proceduresSupporting the maintenance of manufactured and purchased part number recordsIdentifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies across the finance functionAssisting with ad hoc finance duties as required About You
Previous experience within a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or similar roleStrong understanding of purchase ledger, sales ledger or even better bothExperience completing supplier and balance sheet reconciliationsExcellent attention to detail and organisational skillsAbility to work independently and use initiativeStrong communication skills and a collaborative approachPositive, proactive and willing to take ownership of tasks through to completionAAT studier – would be a plus What's on Offer?
