Our client is a well-established and highly respected law firm based in London with a strong reputation for providing high-quality family law services. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Family Solicitor (NQ-5 Years PQE) to join their busy Family Department.
This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor looking to develop their career across both privately funded and legally aided family matters, working within a supportive and collaborative team.
The Role
The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of family matters, representing clients in both private and publicly funded cases. The role will involve advising and assisting clients on a range of family law issues, with a particular focus on financial remedy and child arrangements matters.
The successful applicant will be expected to handle matters independently while receiving appropriate supervision and support where required.
Key Responsibilities
Managing a caseload of private and legal aid family matters from instruction through to conclusion.Advising clients on divorce and separation matters.Conducting financial remedy proceedings, including negotiating financial settlements and preparing court applications.Managing child arrangements disputes and matters relating to parental responsibility.Representing clients at hearings and attending court where required.Drafting legal documents, witness statements, applications and consent orders.Preparing legal aid applications and ensuring compliance with Legal Aid Agency requirements.Negotiating settlements and seeking pragmatic solutions for clients.Maintaining regular communication with clients and providing clear legal advice.Ensuring files are managed efficiently and in compliance with SRA and firm procedures.Participating in business development and networking activities where appropriate. Essential
Qualified Solicitor (NQ to 5 Years PQE).Previous experience handling family law matters.Experience dealing with both private and legally aided family work.Knowledge of Financial Remedy proceedings.Experience with Child Arrangements and Children Act matters.Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.Excellent client care and communication abilities.Ability to manage a busy and varied caseload.Strong organisational and time-management skills.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Desirable
