Bennett & Game are currently working with a leading specialist engineering and optics manufacturer who are seeking an experienced CNC Turner / CNC Setter Operator to join their Ilminster facility on a permanent night shift.
This is an excellent opportunity for a CNC Turner with experience in precision engineering, with training available for candidates who have a strong CNC turning background but limited experience with Single Point Diamond Turning (SPDT).
CNC Turner - Role & Responsibilities Setting and operating CNC Single Point Diamond Turning machineryManufacturing ultra-precision components to extremely tight tolerancesInterpreting engineering drawings, CAD data and surface finish specificationsSelecting and handling specialist diamond toolingAchieving sub-micron tolerances and high-quality surface finishesCarrying out first-off, in-process and final inspectionsUsing precision metrology equipment to verify component qualityAdjusting machine parameters to optimise quality, accuracy and cycle timesCarrying out routine machine maintenance and fault diagnosisMaintaining accurate production and inspection recordsWorking closely with Engineering, Metrology and Quality teams CNC Turner - Candidate Requirements Previous experience operating CNC turning machineryExperience with Single Point Diamond Turning (SPDT) is advantageous but not essentialCNC programming experience, including G-code or machine-specific controls, is desirableStrong understanding of engineering tolerances and surface finishesExperience working with precision materials such as aluminium, copper or nickel-based materials would be beneficialExcellent attention to detail and a methodical approachComfortable working independently within a clean and controlled manufacturing environment CNC Turner - Benefits 20% shift premium for night shift workingOvertime paid at 1.5x after 39 hours and 2x on Sundays and Bank Holidays25 days holiday + Bank Holidays6% employer pension contributionCompany bonus schemeHealth Cash Plan£500 employee referral bonus Bennett and Game Recruitment are a multi-disciplined technical recruitment agency based in Chichester, West Sussex operating across the UK with specialist teams covering a range of industries.
