Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a large, well established bakery and food manufacturer on the outskirts of Sheffield, who are looking to appoint a Maintenance Manager to take ownership of asset availability across a high volume, multi line operation.
The site employs several hundred people and runs a mix of production lines supplying major UK retailers, with plant that runs hard and has to be right every shift. The Maintenance Manager reports into the site's senior engineering lead and sits on the operational management team, leading a multiskilled engineering team with a wide mix of backgrounds.
This is a role about getting ahead of breakdowns rather than chasing them. You'll design the maintenance schedule, own the planned preventive maintenance system, set the asset strategy across the life cycle of the equipment, and build a continuous improvement culture inside engineering. The business is ideally looking for someone from a multiskilled background with an electrical bias.

Duties of the Maintenance Manager will include:
Designing and delivering the maintenance schedule to maximise asset availability across the siteLeading the engineering team so colleagues are safe, engaged, developed and performingMaintaining and improving the planned preventive maintenance system, balancing risk with a proactive approachApplying an asset management strategy to optimise equipment performance through its full life cycleMonitoring departmental KPIs and aligning engineering activity to hit targetsManaging engineering projects and departmental budgetBuilding a culture of continuous improvement within engineeringContributing to the site's multi functional operational management team, including report writing for senior stakeholders Requirements of the Maintenance Manager:
Engineering management experience in food manufacturing or FMCGMultiskilled engineering background, ideally with an electrical biasEngineering HNC or equivalent industrial experienceStrong working knowledge of CMMS and planned preventive maintenanceMaintenance strategy expertise such as RCM, FMECA, condition based maintenance and tribologyProject management and budget management experienceIOSH certified with a food hygiene qualification, or willing to gain oneExperience leading a diverse workforce and influencing across an operational management team This role is commutable from: Sheffield, Rotherham, Worksop, Dinnington, Chesterfield, Doncaster, Retford, Barnsley
