Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a growing manufacturing company based on the Wirral to recruit an experienced Financial Controller. Reporting to the MD, this is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on, commercially minded finance professional who can take ownership of the finance function, support operational decision-making, and help drive business performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Full responsibility for monthly management accountsPreparation of budgets, forecasts and variance analysisEnsure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processesProduce meaningful financial analysis to support operational and strategic decisionsJob costing / project costing / product costingMargin analysis and cost control across projects or production linesWork closely with operational and commercial teams to improve profitabilityMonitor WIP, stock valuation, accruals and provisionsMaintain robust financial controls and processesOversee VAT returns, CIS, and statutory complianceLiaise with external accountants, auditors and advisorsCash flow forecasting and managementOversight of credit control and supplier paymentsSupport working capital optimisationOwnership of finance systems and reporting toolsIdentify and implement process improvements and efficienciesSupport system upgrades or ERP improvements where requiredAct as a key finance business partner to senior managementProvide clear, concise financial insight to non-finance stakeholders Skills & Experience
CIMA or ACCA qualified or qualified by experienceProven experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or similar senior finance roleExperience within building construction or manufacturingStrong Excel and financial analysis skillsCommercially focused with a practical, hands-on approachExperience with job costing, WIP, or manufacturing costingsERP or finance system implementation experiencePrevious experience in an SME or owner-managed environment Benefits
