Design Manager – Civil Engineering | Leeds
Are you a confident people manager with a talent for building client relationships? We're looking for an experienced Design Manager with a strong civil engineering background to work in a head office position based in Leeds.
The company are a well established specialist civil engineering company with a strong reputation and consistently excellent client feedback.
The role
You'll support a growing portfolio of work on a framework, coordinating multiple high-volume reactive projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities
Coordinate temporary and permanent works design across earthworks, drainage and structures projectsInterpret client remits and agree the scope of works before design progressesBrief sub-contract design consultants, obtain fee proposals and place orders based on competency, value and past performanceSpecify and monitor site and ground investigation works to inform the designManage design production against the contract programme and report progress to the client and internallyTechnically review designers' deliverables to ensure they meet the client's remit, standards and regulationsRepresent the company at client progress meetingsSupport the construction team during planning and construction, including briefing engineers on the design and drawings About you
Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Engineering, Project Management or a similar subjectExperience of civil engineering projectsExperience of working in a team and coaching less experienced colleaguesStrong MS Office skills and a full driving licenceICE or IStructE accreditation desirable Apply today to join a company that values its people as much as its projects.
