Head Butler, Live-In or Live-Out, Surrey. Up to £70k GPA
A unique opportunity for an exceptional Head Butler to lead a dedicated service team at a stunning second residence in Surrey. This is a beautifully managed, fully staffed household with a warm, professional culture and top-tier standards.
You’ll oversee all front-of-house operations, from formal dinners and private events to daily hospitality. Working closely with the Estate and House Manager, you’ll lead a team of butlers and footmen, ensuring service is delivered with absolute discretion, precision and polish. A strong food and beverage background is essential, including excellent wine and cigar knowledge.
This role suits someone who truly understands what world-class private service looks like and knows how to deliver it effortlessly.
Duties:
Lead all front-of-house service across the estate
Manage and mentor a team of junior butlers and footmen
Plan and execute service for VIP events, dinners, receptions and family functions
Coordinate seamlessly with chefs, housekeepers and security
Oversee wines, cigars, silver, tableware and linens
Provide hands-on service, setting a gold standard for the team
Ideal Candidate:
Background in UHNW households or luxury hospitality, with strong F&B experience
Confident leading formal service and managing a butler team
Calm under pressure, detail-oriented and solutions-focused
Discreet, professional and service-driven
Strong knowledge of silver service, fine wines, cigars and event protocol
Flexible, hands-on and happy to adapt to changing schedules
Accommodation is provided if needed. The role can be live in or live out.
Days/Hours: Hours vary when the client is in residence, with slightly longer days. When the client is away, core hours are Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm.
Start: ASAP; candidates with up to one month’s notice will be considered.
Salary: £55k–£70k gross per annum
