Accounts Assistant (Part-Time)
Team Valley, GatesheadHybrid Working | 2 Days Office, 1 Day Remote3-4 Days Per Week£28,000 - £32,000 Pro Rata (Dependent on Experience) A well-established logistics business based in Team Valley is looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant to join its friendly finance team on a part-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in transactional finance who enjoys working in a varied role across both purchase and sales ledger activities. The successful candidate will be a confident communicator, highly organised, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficientlyResolving supplier invoice queries with both internal stakeholders and external suppliersPerforming supplier statement reconciliationsAssisting with supplier payment runsProcessing and reconciling company credit card transactionsRaising sales invoices (approximately 80-100 invoices per week)Supporting credit control activities, including chasing overdue customer accountsAssisting the Accounts Manager with month-end processesProviding general finance and administration support as requiredUndertaking ad hoc duties to support the wider business About You
We're looking for someone who has:
Previous experience within an Accounts Assistant, Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger or similar finance roleKnowledge of Sage 50 Accounts (essential)Experience with Boxtop software (advantageous but not essential)Strong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent communication and relationship-building skillsThe ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlinesA proactive and positive approach to workConfidence working both independently and as part of a team What's On Offer?
