The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Senior to join a well-established and growing accountancy practice based in Chelmsford.
This role is ideal for a practice-experienced accountant who enjoys managing a varied portfolio of clients, building strong client relationships, and delivering high-quality accounts and tax services. You'll work closely with Managers and Partners, taking ownership of client assignments while mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities
Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships.Preparing management accounts and financial reports.Reviewing VAT returns and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.Assisting with corporation tax and personal tax computations.Managing a portfolio of clients across a variety of sectors.Providing clients with technical accounting advice and support.Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and maintain strong relationships.Supervising and mentoring junior members of the team.Supporting Managers and Partners with ad hoc assignments and projects. About You
The successful candidate will have:
Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment.ACA/ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience.Strong experience preparing statutory accounts for a range of business entities.Good knowledge of accounting standards, VAT, and tax compliance.Experience using cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks.Excellent communication and client-facing skills.Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.A proactive and professional approach to client service.
