Senior Quantity Surveyor

An established civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team.
This is a senior-level opportunity for a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor who can take responsibility for a portfolio of projects while also leading, supporting and developing members of the commercial team.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for multiple civil engineering projects and play a key role in ensuring commercial performance across your portfolio.
Your responsibilities will include:
Taking full commercial responsibility for a portfolio of projectsManaging, mentoring and supporting members of the commercial teamProviding commercial and contractual advice to project and operational teamsReviewing and drafting contractual correspondenceProducing commercial reports for senior managementMonitoring contract compliance and maintaining accurate contractual recordsBuilding and maintaining strong client relationshipsMonitoring project costs against agreed budgetsManaging cost and financial reporting systemsLeading monthly financial reviews and CVRsForecasting final project costs, sales and marginsManaging variations and change control processesPreparing and submitting valuations and applications for paymentIdentifying commercial risks and opportunities and implementing appropriate mitigation strategiesOverseeing subcontractor payments, variations and final accountsSupporting the tender process where requiredPromoting and maintaining high standards of health and safety The successful Senior Quantity Surveyor will have the opportunity to work across a varied portfolio while helping to shape and develop the wider commercial function.
About You
To be considered for this Senior Quantity Surveyor position, you will ideally have:
Experience working within a contracting environmentA strong background in civil engineeringPrevious experience managing multiple projects or a portfolio of worksThe ability to confidently manage commercial and contractual mattersStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levelsExperience supporting, mentoring or developing junior members of a commercial teamStrong attention to detail and the ability to work independently What's on Offer?
