Domestic Assistant (School Cleaner)
LVS Hassocks | 2 vacancies Pay: £13.88 per hour Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 5 days per week Working pattern: 52 weeks per year
Shift: The preferred hours are 6.00am-2.00pm. We can also consider 8.00am-4.00pm or a shift starting and finishing between these times.
LVS Hassocks is a multi-award-winning specialist school for autistic young people aged 11 to 19. We provide a calm, nurturing and individualised learning environment where students are supported to grow in confidence, develop their independence and achieve their potential.
About the role
We’re recruiting two Domestic Assistants to join our supportive Domestic Services team. You’ll clean designated areas of the school, helping provide a safe, welcoming and hygienic environment for pupils, employees and visitors.
Your responsibilities will include:
Cleaning allocated classrooms, offices, communal areas and facilitiesFollowing cleaning schedules and maintaining high standardsUsing cleaning products, equipment and machinery safelyWearing the appropriate uniform and personal protective equipmentKeeping cleaning equipment and storage areas clean, secure and organisedReporting hazards, damage or maintenance issues to your supervisorFollowing health and safety, safeguarding and school proceduresSupporting colleagues and covering other areas when reasonably required Full training will be provided, including training in the safe use of cleaning machinery. Previous cleaning experience would be helpful but isn’t essential.
About you
You’ll take pride in your work, be dependable and punctual, and be able to follow instructions. You’ll work well as part of a team and understand the importance of health and safety and pupils’ welfare.
