We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Senior Export/Import Operator to join their established and growing team based in Colnbrook.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced freight forwarding professional with strong air import and export knowledge.
Location: Colnbrook
Salary: £38,000 per annum (depending on experience and knowledge)
IMPORTANT: Strong Air Freight import and export experience is ESSENTIAL for this role. Previous Dangerous Goods experience is also ESSENTIAL.
Experience across sea and road freight would be highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing export and import shipments from start to finishHandling Dangerous Goods shipments and ensuring all procedures and regulations are followedCompleting customs entries and ensuring full compliance with HMRC regulationsLiaising with airlines, customers, overseas agents and internal departmentsPreparing, checking and processing all relevant shipping documentationMonitoring shipment progress and proactively resolving operational issuesEnsuring high levels of customer service and operational efficiency Requirements:
Proven experience in freight operations, covering both imports and exportsESSENTIAL: Previous experience handling Dangerous Goods within air freightStrong industry knowledge and freight forwarding operational experienceExperience completing customs entriesGood understanding of HMRC customs procedures and compliance requirementsExcellent communication and organisational skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple shipments in a busy environmentOwn vehicle required due to the office location If you have strong freight import/export experience and essential Dangerous Goods experience, and you're looking for your next opportunity within freight forwarding, we'd love to hear from you.
