HNC/HND Engineering Lecturer - Mechanical or Electrical

We're looking for an experienced Engineering Lecturer / Engineer to deliver HNC and HND level engineering programmes, with opportunities available across Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.
This is a primarily classroom-based role, focused on delivering the engineering theory, mathematics and principles that underpin a successful engineering career. You'll be teaching learners who are progressing through higher-level engineering qualifications, helping them understand the theory behind the systems, processes and technologies they encounter in industry.
The Role You'll deliver engaging, technically accurate teaching across HNC/HND Engineering programmes, covering areas such as: Engineering ScienceEngineering MathematicsEngineering PrinciplesMechanical Engineering PrinciplesElectrical and Electronic PrinciplesEngineering SystemsTechnical problem solvingApplied engineering theory The role will involve: Planning and delivering classroom-based HNC/HND lessonsTeaching complex engineering theory and principles in a clear and practical wayDeveloping lesson plans, presentations and learning resourcesSupporting learners with assignments, projects and technical developmentAssessing learner work and providing constructive feedbackMonitoring learner progress and supporting successful completion of their qualificationsLinking engineering theory to real-world industrial applicationsKeeping subject knowledge and teaching content aligned with current engineering practiceCreating a positive, professional and engaging learning environment About You You'll have a strong technical background and be confident delivering higher-level engineering theory to learners.
You'll need: A relevant HNC, HND, degree or equivalent higher-level engineering qualificationStrong technical knowledge in either Mechanical or Electrical EngineeringA good understanding of Engineering Mathematics, Science and PrinciplesExperience working in engineering, education, training or technical deliveryThe ability to explain complex technical concepts clearlyStrong written and verbal communication skills Desirable Teaching or training qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalentPrevious experience delivering HNC/HND EngineeringExperience within Further EducationAssessor or IQA qualificationExperience developing engineering learning materials and assessments Teaching qualifications are not essential if you have the right engineering background and experience. Full support can be provided to gain a recognised teaching qualification.
