A strong opportunity for a qualified language teacher to join an outstanding grammar school with a high-achieving pupil population and established GCSE and sixth-form provision.
Tradewind Recruitment are currently supporting a highly regarded selective grammar school seeking an MFL Teacher to join its established languages provision. The school has a strong academic profile, high expectations of pupils and a broad curriculum extending from Key Stage 3 through to A Level.
The successful candidate will teach a modern foreign language across the secondary age range, contributing to consistently high standards of teaching, learning and examination preparation.
The Role
As an MFL Teacher, you will be responsible for:
Planning and delivering engaging MFL lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4Teaching language skills including speaking, listening, reading, writing and translationPreparing pupils effectively for GCSE examinationsAssessing pupil progress and providing clear, constructive feedbackMaintaining high expectations of behaviour, presentation and academic achievementContributing to departmental planning and curriculum developmentSupporting pupils who wish to continue language study into the sixth formWorking collaboratively with colleagues within the languages departmentMaintaining accurate records of assessment and pupil progress
The successful applicant will ideally have:
QTS or recognised UK teaching qualificationA degree or strong academic background in a relevant modern foreign languageExperience teaching MFL within a secondary school settingStrong subject knowledge and accurate language skillsExperience teaching towards GCSE; sixth-form experience would be advantageousA clear understanding of effective language teaching and assessmentHigh expectations of pupil achievement and classroom standardsThe ability to build positive professional relationships with pupils and colleaguesA valid DBS or willingness to complete the required safeguarding checks
